En tuant plus d&rsquo;un million chaque ann\u00e9e dans le monde, il reste la principale cause de d\u00e9c\u00e8s d&rsquo;un seul agent pathog\u00e8ne infectieux.<\/p>\n<p>Alors que les traitements ont \u00e9volu\u00e9 et am\u00e9lior\u00e9 au fil du temps dans l&rsquo;infection active de la tuberculose, la compr\u00e9hension de sa propagation au niveau des gouttelettes reste insaisissable. Mais comme pour toute maladie infectieuse, une compr\u00e9hension d\u00e9taill\u00e9e de la microbiologie reste la cl\u00e9 des efforts mondiaux de la sant\u00e9 publique vers le contr\u00f4le et l&rsquo;\u00e9radication \u00e9ventuelle.<\/p>\n<p>\u00c0 cette fin, la facult\u00e9 de recherche du Hackensack Meridian Center for Discovery and Innovation (CDI), en collaboration avec des \u00e9quipes du Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) et de Weill Cornell Medicine, a d\u00e9velopp\u00e9 un nouveau syst\u00e8me exp\u00e9rimental appel\u00e9 Syst\u00e8me de simulation de transmission (TSS) qui reproduit le r\u00e9alisme a\u00e9rien et jamais la pr\u00e9vision de la cueille humaine.<\/p>\n<p>Dirig\u00e9e par Martin Gengenbacher, Ph.D., membre associ\u00e9 de la facult\u00e9 de CDI, l&rsquo;\u00e9quipe collaborative a publi\u00e9 ses r\u00e9sultats dans un article intitul\u00e9 \u00ab\u00a0Le syst\u00e8me exp\u00e9rimental permet d&rsquo;\u00e9tudes sur Mycobacterium tuberculosis lors de la transmission a\u00e9rog\u00e8ne\u00a0\u00bb, dans la revue <i>MBIO<\/i>.<\/p>\n<p>Avec son \u00e9quipe d&rsquo;\u00e9criture, l&rsquo;auteur principal, le Dr Gengenbacher, sugg\u00e8re que le TSS pourrait r\u00e9volutionner le d\u00e9veloppement de nouvelles th\u00e9rapies et vaccins visant \u00e0 arr\u00eater la propagation des maladies infectieuses les plus meurtri\u00e8res du monde.<\/p>\n<p>\u00ab\u00a0Les mod\u00e8les de laboratoire pr\u00e9c\u00e9dents reposaient sur l&rsquo;exposition d&rsquo;animaux \u00e0 un\u00a0\u00bb brouillard \u00ab\u00a0dense et incontr\u00f4l\u00e9 des bact\u00e9ries via le n\u00e9buliseur pour \u00e9tudier la transmission de la tuberculose\u00a0\u00bb, a d\u00e9clar\u00e9 le Dr Gengenbacher. \u00ab\u00a0Bien que pratique, il s&rsquo;agissait d&rsquo;une m\u00e9thode impr\u00e9cise qui ne refl\u00e9tait pas suffisamment la transmission du monde r\u00e9el.\u00a0\u00bb<\/p>\n<p>Le Dr Gengenbacher a d\u00e9clar\u00e9 que la principale perc\u00e9e du syst\u00e8me est sa capacit\u00e9 \u00e0 imiter les caract\u00e9ristiques cl\u00e9s d&rsquo;une toux humaine et \u00e0 simuler la propulsion des gouttelettes a\u00e9rosolis\u00e9es et infect\u00e9es. Le TSS utilise \u00e9galement une simulation de ramassage \u00ab\u00a0uniquement uniquement\u00a0\u00bb pour terminer le processus de transmission, cr\u00e9ant des observations plus coh\u00e9rentes.<\/p>\n<p>\u00ab\u00a0Ce syst\u00e8me nous permet de mod\u00e9liser avec pr\u00e9cision l&rsquo;ensemble du parcours de la tuberculose en laboratoire contr\u00f4l\u00e9\u00a0\u00bb, a d\u00e9clar\u00e9 le Dr Gengenbacher. \u00ab\u00a0Sa concentration d&rsquo;a\u00e9rosols est plus r\u00e9aliste que les m\u00e9thodes plus anciennes, et sa distribution de la taille des particules refl\u00e8te celle des patients ayant une tuberculose active. Nous pouvons maintenant commencer \u00e0 \u00e9tudier les vuln\u00e9rabilit\u00e9s de la bact\u00e9rie pendant qu&rsquo;elle est a\u00e9rienne et d\u00e9velopper des strat\u00e9gies pour interrompre sp\u00e9cifiquement cette voie de transmission.\u00a0\u00bb<\/p>\n<p>Le frisson de la d\u00e9couverte ne r\u00e9side pas seulement dans les implications de ce nouveau syst\u00e8me pour l&rsquo;interception de la transmission de la tuberculose, mais dans la capacit\u00e9 d&rsquo;envisager son potentiel de port\u00e9e future dans l&rsquo;\u00e9tude de la propagation de nombreuses maladies infectieuses.<\/p>\n<p>\u00ab\u00a0Pouvoir reproduire de mani\u00e8re fiable le processus de transmission humaine \u00e0 humaine ouvre une nouvelle fronti\u00e8re pour les interventions de test\u00a0\u00bb, a d\u00e9clar\u00e9 le directeur scientifique et vice-pr\u00e9sident ex\u00e9cutif de la CDI, David Perlin, Ph.D. \u00ab\u00a0En \u00e9tudiant les innovations de l&rsquo;\u00e9quipe du Dr Gengenbacher, nous pourrions un jour appliquer une technologie similaire pour mieux comprendre et contr\u00f4ler la propagation d&rsquo;autres maladies d&rsquo;origine l&rsquo;air et des gouttelettes.\u00a0\u00bb<\/p>\n<p>                                        <!-- print only --><\/p><\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>La tuberculose a \u00e9t\u00e9 un fl\u00e9au \u00e0 l&rsquo;humanit\u00e9 \u00e0 travers l&rsquo;histoire.
