Alors que les m\u00e9thodes traditionnelles reposent sur l&rsquo;inspection visuelle et la biopsie, les chercheurs d\u00e9veloppent de nouvelles technologies qui peuvent fournir des informations plus d\u00e9taill\u00e9es sans couper dans la peau.<\/p>\n<p>Une \u00e9tude r\u00e9cente publi\u00e9e dans le <i>Journal of Biomedical Optics<\/i> Pr\u00e9sent un syst\u00e8me d&rsquo;imagerie compact et non invasif qui combine deux techniques avanc\u00e9es pour examiner \u00e0 la fois la structure et la composition chimique des cancers de la peau. Cette approche pourrait am\u00e9liorer la fa\u00e7on dont les m\u00e9decins diagnostiquent et classent le cancer de la peau et comment ils surveillent les r\u00e9ponses du traitement.<\/p>\n<p>D\u00e9velopp\u00e9 par des chercheurs de l&rsquo;h\u00f4pital de l&rsquo;Universit\u00e9 de Saint-\u00c9tienne et de l&rsquo;Universit\u00e9 de Paris-Saclay en collaboration avec DAMAE Medical (France), le syst\u00e8me fusionne deux types d&rsquo;imagerie: la tomographie par coh\u00e9rence optique confocale (LC-OCT), qui capture des images \u00e0 haute r\u00e9solution des tissus cutan\u00e9s au niveau cellulaire, et des images de RAMAN confocales. Ensemble, ces outils permettent aux chercheurs non seulement de voir la forme et la structure des cellules canc\u00e9reuses, mais aussi de comprendre leurs caract\u00e9ristiques mol\u00e9culaires.<\/p>\n<p>Au cours d&rsquo;une ann\u00e9e, le syst\u00e8me a \u00e9t\u00e9 test\u00e9 dans un cadre clinique sur plus de 330 \u00e9chantillons de cancer de la peau, en particulier les types de non-m\u00e9lanomes comme le carcinome basal des cellules et le carcinome \u00e9pidermo\u00efde. Les chercheurs ont utilis\u00e9 LC-OCT pour localiser les structures suspectes, puis ont appliqu\u00e9 la microspectroscopie Raman pour rassembler plus de 1 300 spectres chimiques de ces zones. Pour interpr\u00e9ter les donn\u00e9es, ils ont form\u00e9 un mod\u00e8le d&rsquo;intelligence artificielle (IA) pour reconna\u00eetre les mod\u00e8les associ\u00e9s aux tissus canc\u00e9reux.<\/p>\n<p>Le mod\u00e8le d&rsquo;IA a bien fonctionn\u00e9, atteignant une pr\u00e9cision de classification de 95% pour le carcinome basal des cellules et 92% lorsque les deux types de cancer ont \u00e9t\u00e9 inclus. Ces r\u00e9sultats sugg\u00e8rent que le syst\u00e8me peut distinguer de mani\u00e8re fiable les structures canc\u00e9reuses en fonction de leurs signatures chimiques. Une analyse plus approfondie a r\u00e9v\u00e9l\u00e9 des diff\u00e9rences chimiques distinctes entre divers types de cancer, offrant de nouvelles informations sur la fa\u00e7on dont ces cancers se d\u00e9veloppent et se comportent.<\/p>\n<p>Cette approche \u00e0 double imagerie pourrait conduire \u00e0 un diagnostic plus pr\u00e9cis et moins invasif de cancer de la peau \u00e0 l&rsquo;avenir.
